Hi beautiful people!
My name is Jess, and my mini goldendoodle, Phoebe, and I would love to introduce you to ourselves! A few years ago, I graduated from Providence College with a BA in Global Studies, focusing on food security & sustainability, with a Minor in Business. After working in the corporate world for a number of years, I realized I need to pursue what I love to live a full healthy, and happy life!
Although quite sassy, Phoebe is one lovable floof. Her all time favorite toy a classic tennis ball (preferably Wilson brand lol). Phoebe loves all Dood Girl treats, but her go-to is the OG or Chicken N' Woofles :)
Why are our products special? Our treats go beyond just USDA Organic, they are also sustainably made. This word gets tossed around a lot, but to break it down for you -- sustainable food production is one that uses techniques to protect & nurture our environment, health & animal welfare.
How does DGC incorporate sustainability? All of the produce we purchase for our recipes is sourced farm-to-fork. A few of the markets we love are: the West Palm Beach GreenMarket, 'Boys' Farmer's Market, and the Delray Beach GreenMarket).
- Shopping local assists in sustainability by reducing greenhouse gas emissions & transportation costs incredibly.
- Zero Food Waste. None of our products go to waste (that's what Phoebe is for, haha)! If we do have extra produce leftover, we have implemented a composting system to keep this sustainable way of living present. Our composting system will aid in our mission to start a Dood Girl garden (specifically focused around growing our own produce for all recipes).
